The San Diego State University Department of Geography is host institution of the California Geographic Alliance (CGA).

The California Geographic Alliance has worked to advocate for and support high quality geography education. The CGA is a member of the National Geographic Network of Alliances for Geographic Education, a group of educators united to support geographic literacy.
